Welcome to the First Baptist Church of Portland, Michigan!
On September 26, 2010, First Baptist Church will have a Dedication Service to celebrate the completion of Phase I of our Renovation project. There will be a potluck following the morning service with an afternoon dedication service to begin at 2:00 pm. All are welcome to attend and see what God has done!
First Baptist Church has from her beginning in 1840 faithfully proclaimed the Bible as the infallible Word of God. It is the members' belief that in this day of shifting values, and confusing and often conflicting messages, man’s greatest need is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
We believe as well that God’s first institution, the family, is being threatened and is endangered. It is our intention through the ministry of the Word, the building of relationships, and the sharing of one another’s burdens to augment and strengthen the family.
It is our hope that we can minister to you through God's Word, uplifting worshipful music, and the varied ministries of the church. We would like to help strengthen your relationship with our living God, encourage your life, and lead you to a place of spiritual maturity.
